New Documentary

Hey guys,  So, it is has been about a month since I posted my last short documentary, and I wanted to let everybody know that Tiffany Lewis and I went to katsucon 2012 and shot some awesome footage. We are putting together another short documentary, and this one is about group cosplaying.

I hope to get a trailer out this weekend! Here is the thing, this will be my first project using avid media composer, and it is a lot different then either final cut pro or adobe premiere, but I strongly believe the market is leaving FCP behind, so i want to get on the Avid bandwagon.

Anime is my thing!

Well guys, here it is Anime is my thing!

The basic idea behind this video is to tell the story of those who are in to anime and cosplay culture and that it is ok to be in to it, because after all, it is no different than any other type of hobby.

This project was one of the most humbling projects i’ve ever worked on. I ran in to all sorts of issues from running the whole production myself, unusable audio, funky depth of field from using a Tilt shift lens for interviews, round tripping issues from Davinci Resolve to final cut, and many more.

I want to personally apologize to those who didn’t make it in to the final cut. I really came to the shoot with the wrong equipment for audio, so my audio suffered.

Get ready for Katsukon, Tiffany Lewis, and I have something new in the works.

The last phase & Launch Date!

It has been about 2 months since Anime USA concluded and about an equal amount of time since I started this little documentary. Well, I am on the last stage, which is color correcting/color grading. By far, of all the things you can do in video, this is my favorite!

The idea behind color correction is to even out the shots so that the color between consecutive shots is not jarring when the cut is made. The color grading side of it gives the entire movie its own look and feel. If you’re old enough to remember the matrix, you would remember that when in the dream world everything had a green tint to it.

I will like to also announce that Friday Januaray 20 will be the launch date for this documentary titled: “Anime: It’s my thing”.

This time its for Otakon!

December has been one of my most productive months! First, I finished a rough cut of my new short documentary that I’m affectionately titling “Anime is my thing”. Then With the help of Tiffany Lewis we created our amv entry for Katsucon 2012. And now after months of technical issues aka procrastination, here is the Otakon 2011 Cosplay Special

Enjoy and post comments!

Back from a long hibernation.

Hey guys, I am back from a super long hibernation, well I can’t say that it was a true hibernation, because Tiffany Lewis and I were hard at work on our newest entry in to the Katsukon 2012 AMV contest called A visual Commentary of the metaphysical existence of  Shinji Ikari… or a few too many Rocksars.
